What Is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic is a fast-growing, licensed healthcare profession focused on the diagnosis, treatment, management, and prevention of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system—particularly those involving the spine, joints, muscles, ligaments, and tendons. These issues can affect not only your physical movement but also your nervous system and overall well-being.
Chiropractors use a range of evidence-based, natural techniques to reduce pain, restore function, and improve mobility. Common treatments include hands-on spinal manipulation (also known as adjustments), soft tissue therapies like massage and trigger point work, acupuncture, postural guidance, therapeutic exercises, and lifestyle advice. Chiropractic care emphasizes the body’s innate ability to heal itself and aims to address the root causes of discomfort, not just the symptoms.
In the United Kingdom, chiropractic is a fast-growing independent healthcare profession, regulated by the General Chiropractic Council (GCC). Chiropractors provide care for patients of all ages with both acute and chronic conditions such as lower back pain, neck stiffness, shoulder pain, and headaches. They take a holistic, person-centred approach, considering physical, emotional, psychological, and social factors when tailoring treatment plans.
Beyond manual therapy, chiropractors often collaborate with other healthcare professionals and may recommend at-home rehabilitation exercises or lifestyle adjustments to support long-term recovery and optimal health.
Whether you’re seeking relief from pain, improved mobility, or proactive support for your musculoskeletal health, chiropractic offers a safe, natural, and effective path to feeling and moving better.
Khalid was first introduced to chiropractic as a patient after injuring his lower back and developing excruciating sciatica. Initially, he tried pain relief medication and physiotherapy, but when a friend encouraged him to give chiropractic a go, he decided to take the plunge. Nervous but hopeful, Khalid was amazed by the results. “I quickly had more mobility and less pain,” he recalls. “I continued with the treatment plan and was able to come off medication and get back to normal daily activities, just as my chiropractor had told me I would.”
Experiencing the benefits of chiropractic care first-hand inspired Khalid to change direction and help others facing similar struggles. Determined to make a difference, he studied at the McTimoney College of Chiropractic in Manchester and Abingdon for six years, all while working full-time within the NHS IT systems team. His dedication and perseverance have shaped the caring, empathetic practitioner he is today.
Khalid’s approach is centred on helping people not only recover from pain but also understand their bodies better and take control of their long-term wellbeing. He enjoys guiding patients through their recovery and seeing them regain confidence and comfort in their everyday movement.
Khalid is dedicated to improving spinal biomechanics and reducing nervous system interference through highly effective chiropractic techniques, including:
Diversified Technique
Activator Methods
Thompson Technique
Soft Tissue Massage
Outside of the clinic, Khalid has a busy and happy family life. He comes from a big family and loves spending his evenings and weekends with his wife and children. He’s also become a keen runner, increasingly taking part in more races and proudly shaving minutes off (or adding miles to) his frequent endeavours with his running shoes.
